Hello!
Ms. Malakoff and Mrs. Redding hope everyone had a great weekend! This week, we are finishing up new student lunch bunch groups. We have really enjoyed getting to know the new students at CHES. We feel very lucky to have them at school! Also this week, there will be a WATCH DOG meeting for dads and their child(ren) on Tuesday, September 19 at 6:30. Pizza will be provided! WATCH DOGS (Dad's of Greater Students) is a program for fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities. We are always so thankful for the help and support of our WATCH DOGs! Next week, Mrs. Redding and Ms. Malakoff will be going into Kindergarten and First Grade classes to discuss Habit 1 of The Leader in Me----"Be Proactive." We are tying in strategies to resolve bullying behaviors from others as well to promote Bullying Prevention Month. More information about ways to prevent bullying will be on next week's blog! Please don't forget that if your child or you feels a student is exemplifying bullying behaviors, please contact us by phone, e-mail, or by the "Silence Hurts Form" on this website. We hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Ms. Malakoff and Mrs. Redding :)

Hello! Happy First Week of School! Ms. Malakoff and Mrs. Redding can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces on Tuesday! Starting Wednesday-Thursday, we will be going into every classroom to introduce ourselves and review/talk with students about what a school counselor does, where we are located in the school, etc. Ever wonder what exactly a school counselor does and why it is so important for every school to have school counselors? No worries, we know a lot of people don't actually do and that's why we are here to fill you in! Taken from the American School Counselor Association's website, we help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development, and career development. Here is a wonderful website that details what an elementary school counselor's role is in a school: https://www.schoolcounselor.org/asca/media/asca/Careers-Roles/WhyElem.pdf Please let us know if you have any questions and/or concerns. As stated in the previous post, our e-mail addresses are [email protected] and [email protected]. Our phone number is 739-6220, Ext. 3023. ~Ms. Malakoff and Mrs. Redding :) |
